This is a list of “great ideas” I’ve had, started, and never finished. Feel free to laugh at them. If you like one, email me and perhaps we can develop it.
The Adventures of Twist-Tie Man (original concept: middle of 2003):
Twist-tie man is a heroic figure made out of a pair of white twist ties. It is a new twist (pardon the pun) on the average stick figure. Twist-tie Man lives on an office desk and interacts with the other office supplies such as pens (average citizen - they get lost frequently though), staple removers (loyal but lethal pets), and a demented mob of characters lead by a sinister, chewed up stub of a pencil. Hilarity ensues (I hope).

I
actually own the domain for this one already and
am currently gearing up hosting. This site would allow bands without
recording contracts to sign up, post mp3 of their work as well as band
bios/information and concert dates. Visitors to the site can post opinions
about shows they have seen, mp3s they have acquired from the site and
eventually buy band merchandise. Eventually I would also like to add
features that track your preferences and suggest new bands that you
may be interested in.
TiVoMonster.com or similar (original concept: March 2004)
Having
a stock TiVo is like having a Porsche with a speed
limiter on it. The dedicated hardware coupled with
the Linux operating system offers unlimited potential
which has been extensively explored since the machine’s
original release. Web sites touting the expandability and potential
of the TiVo exist in several forms however they’re far from user friendly.
I would introduce a few different concepts such as sorting projects
by difficulty, listing possible projects by TiVo version and firmware
version as well as giving a compatible skill rating to visitors by asking
some pointed questions about their experiences with similar projects.
The system could then offer up suggestions for the next logical project
for a person to do with their TiVo and could compare and contrast the
top TiVo setups.
